At Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan, visitors will experience cutting-edge robotics firsthand as Walker C, a humanoid robot developed by China’s UBTech Robotics, welcomes guests and leads tours at the China Pavilion’s south plaza. Opening to the public on April 13 on the artificial island of Yumeshima, the expo will showcase technological advancements from around the world, with Walker C making its debut as an interactive guide. Designed to engage with visitors, this sophisticated robot demonstrates China’s progress in artificial intelligence by offering smooth navigation, object-handling abilities, and barcode-scanning capabilities.

Although Walker C is not yet available for purchase, its presence at the expo highlights the increasing competition among humanoid robots, particularly alongside models like Unitree’s G1. Equipped with smart movement powered by computer vision, Walker C embodies China’s push toward Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), where robots can seamlessly transition between different tasks without the need for retraining. This marks a significant step forward in robotics, moving toward a future where machines can operate autonomously in various environments, making interactions with artificial intelligence more natural and efficient.
